Christmas With EDDY ARNOLD

Sunday, December 14, 2008

From 1961 comes this Chet Atkins produced, pop-country Christmas LP. I don't have much time for these types of albums through the year, but this one contains one of my favourite seasonal country tunes, "Will Santy Come To Shanty Town?".
R.I.P. Eddy Arnold, who passed away in May of this year at age 89.

Tracks:

1. Christmas Can't Be Far Away
2. Will Santa Come To Shanty Town
3. Jingle Bell Rock
4. White Christmas
5. Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town
6. C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S
7. I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day
8. Winter Wonderland
9. Up On The Housetop
10. It Came Upon The Midnight Clear
11. Jolly Old St. Nicholas
12. O Little Town Of Bethlehem

So happy to find this on the Scratchy! My dad used to wake us up playing this record at unreasonable volume levels on Christmas morning. The old vinyls got ruined in a flood, so nice to hear it here. Thanks a bunch!
Just a thought: did Anita Carter ever make a Christmas record? If she did, it would necessarily be kind of great.
